The now “Carova Beach Clean”
This is our 4th annual event to clean the Carova Beach. This coming September 17thh we will hit the beaches of the Outer Banks like a North Easter the likes it hasn’t seen before. Off Road clubs from all around will come together with the strength of a hurricane to sweep the Carova 4X4 Beach of thousands of pounds of debris left behind by both humans and Mother Nature alike. Each year presents the Outer Banks with its life blood, tourists. The rental season is what we all have enjoyed for decades and over the years many have taken advantage of the beautiful shoreline leaving behind unsightly and dangerous garbage.

Well of course you can! And so the story goes
Well for the last three years we just could not take it anymore. For the 1st Clean KMA Off Road of Virginia Beach pulled together its members in 2008 and hit the beach with the best of intentions. KMA Off Road collected over 400 pound of trash, and debris that littered the beach after the rental season and a few good storms. But it did not take a tsunami for KMA Off Road to realize that this effort was bigger than one club and help was needed. In 2009 as KMA Off Road members hit the trails and the web with the story of their exhausting attempt to give back to the shoreline they loved. The response was unbelievable. They were pleasantly surprised when most everyone asked “Can we help”
Well of course you can! And so the story goes.

In 2010 KMA Off Road held a 3nd annual Beach Clean. Joined by many additional off road clubs; Middle Peninsula Jeep Association Inc., Virginia Beach Jeeps Off Road, Lost Jeepers, No BS Just Jeeps,VA4WDA, and Tidewater Four Wheelers. And we had our first local support. Ross Twiddy of Twiddy Reality shared in our cause. His support is outstanding and is pivotal to the future success of the Annual Beach Clean. With the tireless help of these fine organizations we collected an estimated 4000 pounds of garbage. Together with the volunteers from these clubs we walked 6.9 miles of shoreline and dunes. We were sickened by the amount plastic bottles, lighters, syringes, tires, towels, tarps, balloons, cans, glass and almost anything you can imagine.
This is why we are calling out to YOU and to all Off Road enthusiasts. We NEED you and challenge you to join in our efforts to clean the beach. This is what we are all about. We all should understand that if not for the beautiful lands we enjoy our sport would not exist. It is time we come together and give back.
This September 17th is that time. This year brings new blood to the effort. (MPJAI) Middle Peninsula Jeep Association Inc. Winner of the 2010 VA4WDA Club of the year will organize the 4th Annual Carova Beach Clean. This is an effort to share this event with many clubs and reap the benefit of new ideas and skills to the effort. This year also brings the resources of (VA4WDA) Virginia Four Wheel Drive Association. This is the year that KMA Off Road will realize their dream of a community of off roaders coming together for the greatest of causes! The Annual Carova Beach Clean. This year we have two beach homes to share with our families and volunteers; we cook out, play games and visit the beautiful Outer Banks just as we do in the summer months. But this has a different feel to it. We all feel that sense of pride you get when you’re involved in something bigger yourself.
You can feel it too! Please join us this year; we want to get this message out early so you can plan. We will work tirelessly to make this a day to remember, a day to look forward to, a day all the local people and business will remember. A day everyone will say; they “care.
